Welcome to VTU 2!
VTU 2 is a Post-16 group of 9 pupils – 4 girls and 5 boys, who are settling in well to our new classroom and timetable.
At Post-16, our focus is on functional life skills, helping pupils build independence and apply their abilities across a variety of programmes.
This year, pupils will be working towards the CCEA Occupational Studies modules in Hospitality. As part of this, our class will play an active role in running the School Deli and Café, gaining valuable hands-on experience. Pupils also take part in a weekly outing to Home Bargains, where they practise practical skills such as communication, money management, and road safety awareness.
We are also continuing with the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award scheme, which is well established in our school. Pupils progress through the different award levels each year, taking part in activities such as forest walks, camping, and residential trips to outdoor education centres.
Alongside accredited work, pupils remain active with the Daily Mile, gym sessions at the local leisure centre, and yoga with our instructor Barry. In addition, some pupils are involved in choir practice and music tuition provided by the Education Authority.
We look forward to a year of learning, achievement, and new experiences. Thank you for visiting our class page.
