Black History Month

Throughout October, we celebrated Black History Month by learning about influential figures such as Harriet Tubman and Martin Luther King Jr. Pupils explored their incredible contributions to history and discussed the importance of equality and justice. Alongside these lessons, we enjoyed engaging activities like word searches and creative colouring to deepen our understanding of Black heritage and culture.

 

This celebration links to our Rights Respecting School values, particularly:

• Article 2 – Non-discrimination
• Article 30 – Children from minority or indigenous groups

 

By recognising and honouring Black history, we promote respect, inclusion, and the right for every child to embrace their identity and culture.
