We continued to work hard on our reading, writing and phonics in Literacy. Our class story is What Do You See When You Look at a Tree? In art we entered competitions for the National Museum and Texaco- we look forward to other competitions coming up. We have continued developing of social emotional and personal development skills with home economics, structured play and outdoor learning sessions. We had visits from the Planetarium and Eureka Science as well as Scripture Union. In Class 9 we have an active and energetic learning environment where each child learns through structured hands-on experiences, whether that be learning through play, independent discovery, group sessions or one-to-one activities with a member of staff. We have a busy timetable set out for the year ahead full of various activities designed to stimulate, challenge, and engage each child’s individuality. We cover all areas of the Key Stage Two curriculum from Numeracy and Literacy lessons to P.E, Art, Home Economics, Music and WAU. As a class team, we strive to promote independence by developing their Personal Capabilities, their Thinking Skills and their Social Emotional understanding in everything we do. Some of our favourite activities include, sensory circuit, outdoor learning, circuit time, library, anything technology related and of course our weekly visits to the ball pool. There are 7 pupils in Class 9: all boys. We have 4 classroom assistants: Michelle Edwards, Chloe Dunne, Suzanne Gallagher and Caitlin McGeown and our teacher is Mr Ryan Rafferty.
