Lisanally Special School
Welcome

Welcome to Lisanally School website. As you browse through the
pages ahead, we hope that you find everything that you need to
know about the many things which are happening.

In Lisanally our positive ethos is tangible to every visitor from the
moment they come through the school doors. As a whole school
staff we are committed to working closely with parents, pupils and
the allied health professionals to ensure that the best possible
opportunities are offered for our children and young people.

Involvement of families in supporting the programmes on offer to
their child is an essential feature of the child-centred approach in
Lisanally. Every term there are opportunities for parents to visit
our school, including religious services, coffee mornings,
workshops for parents and professionals, open afternoons, etc. In
June we have a wonderful night of celebration - a night which is
the culmination of the excellent work which is undertaken
throughout the school. Such has been the success of our whole
school Prize Night that this year we are going to hold a Prize
Giving afternoon award ceremony for our Primary Department in
addition to our evening prize giving for Secondary and Vocational
Training Unit students.

In Lisanally we employ a very positive approach to the management
of behaviour challenges and the continuous use of positive
reinforcement for our children and young people is in evidence in
every classroom. All classes operate an age-appropriate Behaviour
Reward System which ensures that every child feels valued and
has the opportunity to have a very positive educational experience.

This year we have a new group of hardworking prefects. They are
